About Mary Moody
I am a native of Maryland but a West Virginia mountaineer by choice. I live on 90 acres, up a holler as they say, and we are in the process of building a new home. I have three grown sons and two granddaughters, Casey and Autumn, and a third, Gracie, is due May 1, 2008.
My mother was a beader back in the 1960s and 1970s -- generally using plastic beads for things like Christmas decorations. I got interested in the 1990s when I saw my first bead magazine at the local newsstand (I bought that issue and have since subscribed to nearly ALL bead magazines). I have been playing with beads since then and am beginning to get really serious. Although I do not hesitate to play with any bead, I have narrowed things down and have discovered I adore seed beads -- and I enjoy the uniform size of Japanese seeds and delicas.
At the moment (January 2008), I am using beads as nicotine replacement therapy. I quit smoking on Tuesday and spent that evening and last evening working on a new storage solution. It has definitely kept me from wanting to smoke.
That's me on the left in the photo with my two of my four sisters, Lois and Alice, and my granddaughter Casey, sitting in front of an antique store in Bastrop, Louisiana, in May of 2007.
