Greetings! I am Debbie and I am the designer for Nyx Enchantments Jewelry. I'd like to take a few moments to share with you a little bit about myself and how Nyx Enchantments began. I live in the beautiful state of Colorado with my husband. I love the outdoors and all the activities that go along with it. Outside of making jewelry, I love finding new and wonderful things to take pictures of. Many of my photos can be found on my Flickr page. My jewelry making journey began one day when I was visiting a nice little bead store in Durango, Colorado called Beads and Beyond. This store was so delightful, very much like the town of Durango. The 6 hour drive to this four corner area town is always worth the beautiful trip. As I looked around the store I was so intrigued by all the colors, shapes and styles of the beads. On many occasions, I have purchased jewelry made from inexpensive materials. It was after seeing all these wonderful beads, I just knew I could create items more to my liking. The desire to create jewelry that was unique and of higher quality than the store bought, mass produced items lead to the learning of this craft. It was then that I set out to learn all I could about the art of jewelry making. I began by reading. Next I took jewelry making classes from a local bead store. It was then that I jumped right in and let the creative process begin! I started out making a few items for myself. It was very soon after this, I found myself surrounded by all these colorful, wonderful beads, and sterling silver findings. My learning continues, as I study design techniques and hone my skills. I have found that I truly delight in designing new jewelry and my biggest gratification is to see my creations worn by someone who takes as much pleasure in wearing my jewelry as I did in designing it. I love the challenge of creating custom jewelry. Thanks for your interest!
