About Dorrie

Married 31 years, Husband is retired Navy, I am unemployed, due to an injury, that is how I started beading. I have 2 beautiful daughters and a wonderful son-in-law. Oldest married with 5 beautiful boys and my youngest daughter works in Harrisburg, Pa. I miss her as she supported me in my beading and critiqued my beading ideas. We still keep in contact, so..... I was raised in this town, left to go with my hubby on his tours of duty to Maryland, Maine, Tennessee, Hawaii and Washington. Moved back here to be closer to family, so the girls would know their grandparents. I have been beading for 4+ years now and my favorite is off-loom bead weaving. Bead & Button has really helped me in my learning process. Thank you B&B;. I am very happy beading and I can't get enough of it. I am just so into beads, it makes my days brighter. My problem now is an addiction to beads. I love what I am doing, it keeps my focus in the beading, not my everyday pain. I used to work a salaried position, 50 hours a week, was injured and worked 30 hours a week for a year in excruciating pain, till my doctor said no more. I picked up my crochet and cross stitch, but it didn't help and I accidentally(?) saw a B&B magazine and bought it and have since been beading. I cannot sit still, I need to be doing something and this has helped both physically and emotionally. I would like to teach beadwork as I have become proficient at beading.
