    free project - peacock

just curious, according to the newsletter, this project design is by Dina Powers. Is this the same person that designed the original cross stitch pattern? & can this be claimed by her? I've got the finished cross stitch that I did 10 years ago sitting on my mantel. But I don't recall a name associated with it, other than the company that sold the pattern.

    Hi Alex,

Dina Powers' Peacock evening bag pattern was published in our 2004 Beaded Pictures: Charts and Instructions for Beadweaving, which is no longer available. In the book, Dina's description reads, "I adapted a cross stitch pattern to beadwork using [a] computer program."

I wish I could tell you more, but that's all the background I have.

    ah,

     Thanks for answering.. :)

I do like this particular pattern.  & I love using cross stitch patterns for loom work.  It's probably the fastest & easist way to come up with gifts for people.

It's just tying off all of those darn warp threads that can be a pain... In that sense, cross stich is much easier, since most of this kind of work gets "framed"  or used as pillow or with another kind of backing that helps make the finishing much less stressful. :)
