seedbeads - how do you sized them?

    Hi

I'm a new beader... could you tell me how to size seedbeads when you have splilled them all together (different sizes).  What do you use? I have a wire gauge, is there something for seedbeads, and if so, where may I buy one?

What does means 6/0, 8/0, etc.???  Is it the amount of seedbeads per inch?

     Thanks a lot in advance.

hmmmm, that's a tough one! If you don't recognize the size, I would recommend comparing it to a bead whose size you do know. It's really a matter of experience, I think -- the more you use them, the easier it is to recognize what size your beads are. If you don't have any known beads in the sizes you are looking for, take some samples to your local bead store; they should be able to help you identify them!

Here is a link that will answer your question www.landofodds.com/store/seedsize.htm

If you do a Goodgle search you will find many places that will answer you question if the above site does not give you the exact answer.
