Flower Garden Bracelet from RAW 2008

I just sat down to start on this bracelet on page 19 of the RAW magazine - Flower Garden.  But I am stuck right out of the starting gates.  Is it me or are the instructions/diagrams not all that clear.  No matter what I do, I am not getting past step 1.

Very frustrating.  Hope someone else has gotten farther than me and can help me.

    Thanks,

    Susan

It might be helpful to try starting the project as follows:

    1) Pick up the two 4mm bicones and the size 11 seed bead and move them to the center of a 1 yd. piece of Fireline. When you look at figure 1, these are the three ghosted beads at the top of the drawing. The illustration is drawn with the intention that the beader will be working downward from the three centered beads. You can also think of this as working the stitches toward the beader.

    2) Pick up one 4mm bicone with the right-hand needle. Snug this bead to the seed bead picked up in step 1. Sew through the 4mm you just picked up with the left-hand needle and pull the thread through the bead. You should now have a small cluster of four beads - three 4mm bicones and one seed bead. This is the end of step 1 in the instructions.

    3) To begin step 2 in the instructions, pick up a 4mm bicone with the left-hand needle. With the right-hand needle pick up a size 11 seed bead and an 4mm bicone. Sew through the the 4mm you just picked up with the left-hand needle. Snug up the beads. This is the end of step 2. Your beads should look like figure 1.

    4) Continue adding bicones and seed beads around the circle, crossing the two sides of the Fireline through the same bead as instructed.

I hope this helps you visualize the start of this project.

Thanks so much Lynne. I was able to finish my 3 flowers!

    This really helped.
