Some of the things I use:
- daily pill containers, especially the ones that have a flat rectangular box with four compartments for each day. 7 day's worth stack up in a plastic rack. Note: some pill boxes don't close tightly, but these do.
- small ziploc bags, designed to carry a day of medicine/vitamins. These are sturdier than the tiny extra-button-bags that come with shirts (although I use those, too).
- glass baby food jars
- large, clear plastic bags that curtains and blankets come in. They usually have a heavy zipper around the top. I put all my smaller containers in a larger bag and organize them by color
- I really like the round magnetic containers (originally filled with paper clips and binder clips) that I found at Office Max. They are really good for bringing small projects with you while traveling. You can see what is in them because they have a clear window on the lid. And your needle is easy to keep track of because it sticks to the magnet.
