At Walmart (I love that place for some things) they have little cases that hold 24 rectangular bead "tubes" (with flip lids) for like $5 a case.

I simply organize my beads (sead, crystal or otherwise) by the colors of the rainbow. All reds are together in increasing shades (light to dark) in each color group.

Some of the things I use:

     - daily pill containers, especially the ones that have a flat rectangular box with four compartments for each day.  7 day's worth stack up in a plastic rack.  Note: some pill boxes don't close tightly, but these do.

    - small ziploc bags, designed to carry a day of medicine/vitamins.  These are sturdier than the tiny extra-button-bags that come with shirts (although I use those, too).

    - glass baby food jars

    - large, clear plastic bags that curtains and blankets come in.  They usually have a heavy zipper around the top.  I put all my smaller containers in a larger bag and organize them by color

    - I really like the round magnetic containers (originally filled with paper clips and binder clips) that I found at Office Max.  They are really good for bringing small projects with you while traveling.  You can see what is in them because they have a clear window on the lid. And your needle is easy to keep track of because it sticks to the magnet.

I have my seed beads in 5 inch tubes which I know put into test tube racks. Am not sure where I saw that idea - might have even been in this forum - but it's working out great for me! We were just fortunate to turn unfinished basement space into a craft studio for two. One quilts and one beads. :) I line my test tube racks up on the desk and seeing all the colors there is so inspiring!

     Happy Beading Y'all!

I have my beads in tackle boxes, some in tubes and some in bags.  I think some of you have many, many more beads than me.........I need to catch up!  The boxes sit on top of a chest of drawers holding all my yarn..............well, except when the cats jump up and knock everything down, of course!

I also use the small metal candy tins, the round ones with lids that come all the way off, not the square hinged ones, for my traveling bead needs.  The lids fit tightly and needle, thread, thread heaven, and small ziplocs of beads fit in well for small projects or bead ropes.  Just drop in purse and go!
