    Celtic Trefoil Necklace

The February, 2009 issue of Bead&Button featured an article called "The Language of Design".  On page 47 one of the design principles was illustrated with a photo of a "celtic trefoil necklace"   Knocked my socks off and I'd love to know more about this necklace.  Would even purchase a pattern, if available.  Does anyone know more about this item?  Care to share what you know?

Diane Fitzgerald will be teaching this technique at the 2009 Bead&Button Show, on Friday, June 5. You can find out more about the class here.

Thank you for your response.  Sadly, not everyone can get themselves to a bead show and, even if I could, $150 is a little steep for a class.   Maybe someday this will a appear as an affordable pattern or be featured in one of the beading magazines.

This pattern is appearing in a book due to be published in March - Diane Fitzgerald's Shaped Beadwork: Dimensional Jewelry with Peyote Stitch (Lark Books Beadweaving Master Class). I've been able to pre-order here (Scotland).

$150 is definitely too steep for me for a class - and that doesn't include the materials! That's one of the things that bothers me about big show classes - very expensive! There's a chain maille and crystal class being taught for $148 that I learned elsewhere for under $45! It's just not affordable for many people. Especially in this economy!

I got my copy of Diane Fitzgeralds "Shaped Beadwork", which has the "Celtic Trefoil" necklace in it. I am so excited with this book and I feel it is a great investment in whatever beading style you use. I have learned a lot from it and it is constantly by my side, so I can pick it up between projects and make something or for inspiration. I very highly recommend the beader to have it in their library. It is wonderfully written and beautifully diagrammed. Kudo's to Diane for her newest book.

For the record, I do not get commission for selling these books. This is just one book I am really excited about.
