    bracelet issues

Okay, can anyone recommend a way to shape a wire cuff bracelet so that it's uniform and fits most people? I have sad and skinny wrists so my own arm is not so good, plus it's kinda difficult. Thanks!

    Hi there

I use all sorts of things to shape my pieces...I use kids shampoo bottles and deoderant sticks...My suggestion is to use a cloth tape measure and find something oval that is 7in around 7 1/2 inches and one that is 8 inches...thise are the 3 most popular sizes for braclets

You can buy a ready made metal cuff bracelet of a size and shape you like and  use that as a form for your wire work.  There is such a thing as a bracelet mandrel too, like the ones you use for shaping and sizing rings only wrist size. Jeanie

I like this, it works like a charm.
I also use a cloth tape measure for the sizes, 7.5 and 8.

    Bracelet Bending Plier

With a gentle arc for bracelets, the nylon jaws of this lier cannot scratch. Makes reshaping bracelets easy. Just squeeze, squeeze, squeeze along...

You're probably going to think this sounds really goofy but a paper towel roll that's about 3/4 of the way used up makes a great wire shaper for bracelets. It's firm enough to offer resistance but soft enough to sort of mimic skin over bone. Yeah, I have a Swiss Army knife, a flashlight and a mirror in my handbag. I don't chew gum anymore because I've seen "How It's Made" :D

For me it depends on what gauge wire I'm using.  If it's thick enough to need to be hammered & hold its shape, then I use an oval bracelet mandrel.  Took me long enough to buy one.  If it's softer & has a built-in clasp, then I might just form it around one of the shapes suggested or try the cool nylon jaw pliers.  Good luck.

try the end of a wooden ax handle.  Perfect shape (oval)... and you can hammer it.

Ditto, Pisces.  The oval mandrel works like a charm and I just manually shape anything softer.  I might have to try those bracelet pliers out, though!
