New finished-jewelry storage idea

This time each year, my jewelry starts to multiply as Bead&Button Show finds work their way into new necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. Many beaders spend a great deal of time talking about how to store and organize their beads and other loose components, but I struggle most with storing finished jewelry. How do I display my jewelry in a way that keeps it safe, uncluttered, and easy to browse?

This weekend, I came up with this idea. It’s very easy and inexpensive: Simply store each piece in a plastic bag, then use clothes pins to attach the bags to clothes hangers. I love this approach because my jewelry becomes as easy to peruse as my wardrobe. In fact, I can hang my jewelry next to outfits that coordinate with it. I also appreciate being able to store business cards and anti-tarnish strips with each piece.

You’ll see another finished jewelry storage idea in the picture above: a belt hanger. Read about this handy tool and a few others in another blog, Jewelry organization ideas for the New Year.
