Here are some tips to help you order the loomwork lantern frame for the four-panel lantern in the June and August issues of Bead&Button. Go to www.metiers.biz, and notice the box that says, "About ordering the lantern frame introduced on Bead&Button magazine," and an image of beadwork. Click on the beadwork image to send an e-mail to Metiers and ask about ordering the frame. Metiers will reply with a short order form for you to complete and return by e-mail. Metiers is the gallery that represents the frame-maker and the lantern designer, Naomi Sakuma.
You will need to go to a local bank and request an electronic transfer of funds. The $140 transfer should be made to an account number provided by Metiers. The amount includes shipping. The bank can help you with this, and it's a great way to learn how to do overseas transactions in our global economy. Please take all of the information about the account that Metiers provides to the bank with you.
After Metiers confirms the order and payment, the frame-maker receives the order. It takes about six weeks to make and send the frame. Do not let the wait deter you, however, as making each lantern panel takes time.
Thank you for your patience! Metiers cannot accept credit cards because Japanese regulations are very complicated for a smaller gallery.
