Beaded Japanese lantern: A two-part series

Naomi Sakuma is bringing her beaded lantern to the Bead&Button Show for display! Naomi, an instructor at the show, beaded the lantern on a loom. It is intricate in its attention to detail and serene in its beauty. It is a longer-term project, to be sure, but one that results in an heirloom. Two patterns for the lantern were published in Bead&Button in the June issue, and two in the August issue. Associate Editor Anna Elizabeth Draeger tested the pattern, so we have been able to watch it unfold and experience its unique palette and design. If you thought about subscribing to Bead&Button before but have not yet done so, this lantern is well worth the price. We also have light and lively summer projects in the June issue, and earrings to share in August.
