Never fully dressed without beads?

Like most beaders, I make a lot of beaded jewelry. Some pieces are my own designs, while some are designed by others. I often make multiple versions of the same thing just for the fun of experimenting with different bead and color combinations. I also have a few unfinished pieces that are languishing in my stash, waiting for me to either complete them or take them apart and do something different with the beads.
Of the many necklaces, bracelets, and earrings I’ve made, I have a few select pieces that I wear frequently (frequently for me, anyway, as I usually leave the house without any jewelry on at all). Most of the others I wear only occasionally. My sister was recently the recipient of some of those rarely-worn pieces. It’s not that I don’t like them – on the contrary, in fact, I found it a little difficult to let go of them. It helped, of course, to know that I could re-create them if I decided I wanted to. But I think one of the things I like most about beading is learning each new technique or process, and figuring out why certain combinations work and others don’t.
I wonder where I fall on the spectrum of beaders? Are there a lot of other beaders who love to make beaded jewelry but don’t necessarily wear much of it? Or are there more who make sure they wear something beaded every day? Personally, my goal is to start wearing more of my beaded jewelry. In order to achieve my goal, I’ll paraphrase a song from the musical “Annie” and remind myself that I’m never fully dressed without beads!

I wear beaded jewellery most days, though some of my pieces are a tad OTT for work and have to wait for those (too rare!) Special Occasions for an airing. I find it hard to make pieces that I wouldn't wear myself, and while I'm not particularly conservative, I guess it's limiting . I need to have the confidence to make items outside my comfort zone and trust that someone else will want to wear them!

I create my own  patterns or designs. Most of my beaded jewelry is freeform peyote, although I do all types of beadweaving and embellishing.  I do sell my creations.  After one is born, I always take it on it's "maiden voyage" to see if it's functional and practical and well as "comment receiving".  Then I know I have a "seller."  Otherwise, I know its "back to the drawing board".  Sometimes, however, I just like it so much --- I have to have it for my own!  That's why I had to buy a chiffrobe for my beaded jewelry.  LOL!

If and when I have used a pattern to make jewery (twice); it was for my own use only , and I wear them proudly and gladly give out the names of the designers and where to find their work.  I never sell another's designs.  I keep those special for me.

I love beadweaving and then sharing it with others who love it too - so I also teach all that I know.   I encourage as many as I can to spread the wonderment I have found playing in the beads.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I wear every piece I make once, usually the same day I make it. And that's all for most of them. Also, I like to wear one piece of  jewellery at a time, I believe it attracts the attention better this way. What I love most is creating.
