Heading to Minneapolis for lampworking show

Beginning Thursday the 26th, the International Society of Glass Beadmakers (ISGB) will be holding their annual convention, the Gathering. It’s being held in Minneapolis this year, and Ann Dee Allen and I will be heading up north for a few days to immerse ourselves in the world of glass. I’m looking forward to learning about new trends and techniques, catching up with old acquaintances and making new ones, and, of course, shopping for a few choice beads! I also hope I have time to take another cruise through Trajectories, the ISGB’s stunning exhibit of glass beads by some of today’s most highly-regarded beadmakers. The ISGB has been instrumental in nurturing the growth of the glass beadmaking industry, and the high quality of the art-glass beads that are being made these days is, in part, a reflection of the work they’ve done. If you’re not familiar with the ISGB, click here to check out their Web site. And if you’re going to be at the Gathering, I hope to see you there!
