Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can.

Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.

Yikes, the skin and fingernail rings are creepy for sure. What got me is the 'hair' necklace and earrings. Talk about wearing a 'hair ball' around your neck and ears! I thought only cats had hair balls! Yikes. Wonder if it's animal hair or human. Surely this artist doesn't chop humans/ animals up to make the jewelry...Spooky thought, huh?

Ok, the fingernail stuff is a bit creepy because most people think eeeewww .. but did you see how perfectly cut they were to form that rose bud shape? The skin ring is gross!! All her other work is very cool, very architectural ..

    Oh. My. God.

    Ick.

But the architectural designs are impressive. Not all of them look that functional, though.

Donno... some folks like jewellery made with animal claws and bone and whatnot.

I don't mind the hair at all. Jewellery set with hair from a loved one was very common in the 18th and 19th centuries. A ring set with a lock of hair caused a lot of speculation in Sense & Sensibility :-)

Anyone remember the live gem-studded cockroach jewellery a few years ago? Don't put your brooch away in an anti-tarnish bag... give it some water and a banana... :-)

I wholeheartedly admire the creativity, even though there is nothing grosser in this world to me than fingernail clippings. *shivers*

It did get your attention, though.

I found the link. Yes, the workmanship is excellent, but I also feel repulsed by the use of discarded fingernails. However, I give the artist great kudos for originality in using the fingernails to form a flower!

Art is what it is. Artists are attracted to different materials. I like using bones, teeth and hair. I have used bones and claws and horsehair and leather (which along with rawhide IS skin) in my work. I also love skulls.

If you aren't too squeamish and would like to see even more animal part art check out this site. http://www.morbidtendencies.com/

She doesn't kill anything to get her material. How many of you objecting to the skin wear leather and eat meat? Or own predatory carnivores (dogs, cats, snakes) as pets?

The use of animal parts as design elements is very common in American Indian craft and costume. An artist coming from just such a tradition would not find it unusual or gross.

Personally, I was more freaked out by the fingernails.

Im vegetarian so, I guess Im biased.

But, oh boy! the skin was just way over the top.

The rest of the work is nice, very architectural.
