RE: Rings and Things Trunk Show

    Sorry, Jackie !!!! [:I]

I did get an e-mail from you saying that you'd e-mailed the warehouse asking for an invite. I reminded my staff that hard core beaders from the forums were asking for invites and to please give them.

Just to restate how it works.
if you have a tax number, just go. We'll let anyone "in the trade" into our wholesale only shows.
If you've already ordered from us, just go. We'll let you in. You are on our list of established customers.
Without a resale number, e-mail us with your full name, business name if you use one, full mailing address, phone, etc and we'll send you the invite.

I'm not sure what happened to your request, Jackie. It's faintly possible your ISP bounced it as we were on a spam black list for a few weeks. That's fixed now. If you still want to go and take a peek, just print this note from the forum. (We won;t twist your arm to make you buy, honest!)

Lexi: Glad you enjoyed the show! Sorry, tho, that you had so much self-control. [}:)] Those rulers are handy. I just noticed a site selling 12" ones with even more stuff on them. Ours are better priced. [:D]

Seadreamer: We've been told that your state forces us to charge tax to everyone and then you have to claim a refund on your sales tax form? That's a hassle that we feared woud annoy our customers. Do you (or anyone around the Big Easy) know if that's really how it works? Or, is everyone just used to doing business that way? I have a few staff who'd like us to do shows there so maybe it could happen.

I went to the show in Whippany, NJ yesterday and it was fantastic! The best part was that it was literally 5 minutes from my house. I've already made three necklaces and a pair of earrings from some of the strands I bought. I love the ruby quartz, zebra jasper and rainbow blue "quartz" I purchased! Anyway, I'll post pics of my creations this weekend.

I am getting so excited! Rings N Things is going to be here the day after tomorrow. I can't wait to go and see what all the talk is about. I felt a twing of guilt yesterday... I was showing my husband some beads I had gotten clearance when beadbox went out of business... and he said "you'll be done buying for a while now right?" I said yes. BUT I have to get things at the trunk show thursday.

I loved, loved, loved the trunk show yesterday. Definately full of good deals. I was hooked after the first table. I got, well lets see... pearls, pearls and some more pearls. ABout 20 strands in all, different sizes and colors, all beautiful. Then I got some findings and some gemstone strands. The gemstones are larger shaped and cuts. I got "Red" Candy Jade, Ocean Jasper, Ruby Quartz, and Mongolian Jasper. I got two strands of sterling silver spacers too. All in all just under $300. Shhh don't tell my husband [:)]. They are going to be here again in September... I can't wait.

RE: Rings and Things Trunk Show

Russ, When will you be in McLean, Va again.? I spent a little over $300. at the last one and got some unusual pearls that made into a funky necklace with some fiber optic items. Russ, how can a person tell if they are buying Peridot if it is glass or the real thing? I had no trouble at your show as you marked everything so well but I have been at shows were I was not sure if what they were offering was real Peridot or glass.???

BBeth: According to our list ( http://www.rings-things.com/Show/index.html ) we'll not be back until next spring. We ARE still adding and finalizing shows so check that link from time to time. Since you were at this year's show, we have you name in our list, we'll send you both e-mail and snail mail reminders.

Peridot is pretty cheap rough material. It's not one that is usually faked. You can find peridot colored glass but it's usually obvious Czech or Austrian glass. Real peridot is usually not dyed or color enhanced but somtimes is treated to fill voids.Real peridot rough is usually small so large cut stones are less common. If you are ofered small beads (6mm or less) and it's strung like a gemstone, it's probably real.

Ooooh... ya know... I don't know. But I'm willing to make a few phone calls and/or emails to the State Revenue office and see what's up. ^_^ I know that there are trade shows that are closed to the general public, but I think that's not quite the same thing. If I get anywhere, I'll let you know.

    Thanks Russ!!
