Went last Saturday to the show in Atlanta, GA even in the pouring raining!!!! And it was well worth it. They had some beautiful beads. And the prices were very good. I'll go next year. Rate them A+++++++++++++++++++++[8D][:)][tup]

It's the rain that makes a show good, cuts down on the other activities that people would normally do. Did a bead show in Portland Or over the weekend, had nasty weather Sat. and the show was great that day/

My neatest find was what was called Compressed Amber. It looks like a piece of candy (none of us could think of the candy that it looks like) I believe from Brach's. It is black, brown and ivory. It looks good enough to eat, but don't think I will. Kinda would be crunchy[(-D][(-D]
I also found what I think is unusual pieces: red tiger eye, Green Leaf Jasper, Green goldstone. Got a bunch of swarovski crystals, including some of the new colors.
When ya'll get back from the show, post your findings. Let's just see what everyone finds.[:D]

I got these really cute lady bug lampwork beads, some malachite ovals that I have not been able to find anywhere, two spools of SS chain that was at an unbelieveable price [tup] misc, findings, and two strands of oval flowered lampwork beads.
It was so much fun. Even my hubby was looking for stuff for me!!!

RE: Rings and Things Trunk Show
We are almost out of the raspberry turquoise.
We had one of our China suppliers try to make something similar to the Purple turquoise manufactured out of sleeping beauty turquoise, resin and dye. Only ours was made from Chinese turquoise. It came out substantially more raspberry colored than expected and not like the original sample. We negotiated price and kept it. It's less expensive this time than a repeat purchase would be.
It's really a compressed nugget. Chunks and nuggets of real turquoise dyed and bound together with resin. It's not reconstituted as it is mostly real stone. No ground up stone powder as recon turq is always supposed to be. It IS stabilized because the resin soaks into everything. It IS dyed. You can see the individual nuggets and the bands of dyed resin when you look closely at it.
You can see the purple turquoise at http://www.beadandbutton.com/bnb/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=9503

RE: Rings and Things Trunk Show
I'm so jealous of all you guys getting to see the Rings & Things goodies!! I still think that Ross and Co. would just ADORE New Orleans.... ^_~ As much as I love beads, I can't travel 4 states to get to the nearest R&T trunk show. *sighs* Maybe one day.... *is hopeful*

RE: Rings and Things Trunk Show
Russ, I just returned from the R&T show--fabulous. I struggled not to over do it. Lots of nice wonderful things, and I also was graciously given extra catalogues for my students. and I have about 40 rulers which I will pass out to everyone.
Thank you sooooo much, and by the way, your son is a hunk. He did say he was going to call you for Father's Day...so you were in his thoughts.
Thanks for everything,
Lexi

RE: Rings and Things Trunk Show
Russ - I am so sad![:(] I emailed your company, and your own personal email address, to ask for an invitation to your Massachusetts show. But - no replies! It's a moot point now, because I have no $, but it would have been nice to get a reply!
