My Signature Piece - Free Teardrops Tutorial

Hi everyone! I know I haven't been around for a while, I just pop in every once in a while when I have a chance. A couple of toddlers drastically cuts down on free time, eh? *cheesy grin*

Anyway, I wanted to let you know that my free Teardrops Tutorial is back up on my blog and forum! The teardrops series that I create are my signature pieces, and I have totally enjoyed sharing this easy yet elegant chain maille tutorial with everyone who has been interested. If you have never tried chain maille and find it intriguing, here is a perfect piece to get you started mailling.

You will have to sign up for the forum to see the free tutorial. I'd post it in here, but, I have no idea how to post a PDF doc, LOL. I can post a pic though! *cheesy grin* Here is where the forum is: http://www.cageycrafters.com

Here is a pic of my Pearl Teardrops Bracelet so you can get an idea of what the tut is for:

    Have fun everyone!!!

Oh, you guys HAVE to try this one. Jennifer turned me on to maille -- this tut was the first maille piece I ever made!!!! I love it!!! Even a non-mailler can do this one -- I had failed at maille so many times, but this one was the charm. Now I'm a total maille-head, lol.

Thank you, and you are so very welcome Fenian! At my old forum this used to be the most popular tutorial posted. There were quite a few newbies to maille who truly wanted to learn how to maille, yet did not think they could do it. This tut is soooo easy, even if you do not have any previous maille experience, as long as you know how to open and close a jump ring, you can do this!!! Honestly! *grin* I have not heard of one person who has tried this tut who could not do it. And you are more than welcome to post comments, questions, etc., in the thread where the tut is and I will answer any questions and help you along!

Why do I post it for free? Frankly, because so many people have taken the time to help me to learn my skills, and I want to be able to give that back if I can.

I thank you, too, Jennifer! All downloaded and ready to roll (except, for the fact that I don't have all those specific jumprings...aarrgghh). Would you be willing to reveal your source? I am SO wary of jumprings coming open, I hardly ever use them anymore. thanx, again! [:)]

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can.

Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.

Hi Elly! I cut my own jumprings. My two fav places for jumprings though (before I bought my own jumpringer, etc.) was Spiderchain.com and Urbanmaille.com.

If your rings are coming open, then you probably are not using the correct ring for the project....in other words, the rings you use might be too thin and/or too big. Use a smaller ring with a thicker gauge and you should be just fine.
