    Inspiration

Okay, the well has run dry--any ideas on how to get inspired again? I look at my beads and walk away . . .
Should I go on a shopping spree?
    Try a new hobby?

luvseeds...beadweaver? Don't give in, we all go through a creative slump more than once...

why not do something different from jewelry? I'm assuming you're a beadweaver because of your username. How about beading up a vessel....or a sculptural piece? Seed beads are awesome because they're so versatile! When I ran out of jewelry inspiration I plunged into a sculpture. As soon as it was done I was itching to work on a piece of jewelry and decided to reward myself with a necklace...for me. I'm working on it at this moment! [:)]

I am fairly new to this art but I have found a few things that work.
    1. Rearrange your beads. If you had them by color, change them to by size or whatever.
    2. Take a few very different beads - size and color for example - and mix them together in a plate and then try to make something work.
    3. A never fail method is GO SHOPPING! That *always* works!

    RE: Inspiration

Sometimes, playing with my beads helps (just sorting, etc). Sometimes, playing "dress-up" and imagining what jewelry would look good with the outfits I put together. This helps get me in touch with the "child" in me (which is where my creativity seems most fertile).

Another source of ideas, is to look through photos of various other artists work for inspiration on style, color palette, etc. I also like to watch movies (or TV) where the actors wear interesting costumes, and I try to make jewelry for them.

Sometimes, however, burnout is the cause of my block. In which case, I need to go outside and play, or just do something unrelated to beading for awhile.

Of course, NEW BEADS work, too.
