    First posts...a retrospective

    Hi everyone,

With less than 48 hours to go before all these posts go into the archives, I thought it might be fun if each of us shared the first work we submitted on SYW.

Not quite sure what would be best (to post pics - which could get kind of image heavy or to post links to each original thread). I opted to post pics, cuz I don't know how to link. If any of you have ideas on the best way to make this work, feel free to make suggestions.

Here's the first work I posted way back in February:

Hope all of you have fun sharing pics, links, stories and memories. Who wants to go next?

    [:D]

What a cool idea. I think this might have been my first post. Either this or a set of wire pieces. It was also my first polymer cane.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can.

Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.

    Hi again,

It's very cool to see these beautiful creations I missed before I registered.

homegirl, thank you...I painted the geese onto a beautiful stone (the stone had a pattern that looked like water, so I just put the geese on top and let the stone show through).

Your bracelet is wonderful; the turtle is fantastic!

C'mon fenian; it doesn't have to be your first post...just show us somethin'. :-)

jilla, very cool piece and the wire wrap is wonderful. It frames the rose without overpowering it.

Fabulous bracelets, Elizabeth. Guessing it's kind of fun for you to look back.

The earrings are great, middenmistress. You should wear them other times besides Christmas.

Ah, gaby...the coral necklace is very cool, and I hope everyone will continue to post to the new boards too.

Kitty, what a fantastic gift for your friend. It's lovely!

ok, the pics haven't seemed to bog down this thread (my slow dial-up connection isn't minding), so, keep 'em coming. Really enjoying seeing all the first posts!

Ooops, we posted at the same time, Elly. Or, close enough.

Thanks for sharing your first post; I hadn't seen them before and they look great to me!

LOL! How funny! My first post also happens to be my very first creation with beads.

My mom gave me the two nubby ceramic beads and challenged me to make something with them - this is the result.

    I think I've come a long way, baby.....at least I hope so [:D]

O wow, a retrospective. I think these were the 3 for my 1st post here about 3 months ago.

Not much of a change, I'm still doing these silver and pearls designs.

    That's a gret post :) Thank you Dawn :)

This was my first piece I've posted here and the first wire-wrapped piece I've made (it was 10 months ago). I wasn't happy about it but I've received so many positive comments from you, guys, I felt encouraged to do more of this kind of jewelry. And here I am today, with my own gallery of wire-wrapped pieces :)

    Thank you :)

Wow what a way to celebrate Dawn, all this lovely eye candy. Although I have been a member for a long time my first time showing was last August...
