    IMPORTANT: EMAIL TO RE-REGISTER

One of the many glitches on these present boards, at least in my case, is the inability to change my email on my profile. The email I used to register is no longer functional. There are various other people who have the same problem.

In the forum announcement you (admin) state that we need to be sure our emails are up to date so we can receive instructions on how to re-register.
Please inform us of how we can do this in the event we cannot do so in our profile options. I can't.

Thank you, on behalf of all of those with the same problem as myself.

    RE: IMPORTANT: EMAIL TO RE-REGISTER

What happens when you try to change it?
Can you change other parts of your profile?
The problem with not being able to change your e-mail address is strange since most of us can change ours.

If your browser is Mozilla, Opera or one of the other Internet Explorer competitors try it with IE. It might work. If you reach the forums through AOL or dial up try it from a friend's computer or who has a DSL or cable connection. If you use a MAC try it from a PC. Based on problems people have reaching my site, I fear it may be related to the software on your machine not being completely compatible with the forum software.

    RE: IMPORTANT: EMAIL TO RE-REGISTER

Thanks Russ for the input. I have two email addresses active right now, and tried to input both, but I keep getting a message saying that the email is already registered by another member (for both mails) and to choose another email [:0]. I guess its not really all that important, I imagine the email for re-registration is so we can keep our usernames. By the way, I'm on IE and on DSL. I've also disactivated my proxies but didn't help. No harm...I'll just add a symbol or something to my handle when I do re-register.

    Thanks for your help! [:)]

    RE: IMPORTANT: EMAIL TO RE-REGISTER

Interesting. So when you go to the change profile link (http://www.beadandbutton.com/bnb/community/forum/pop_profile.asp?mode=goEdit ) you log in and see your old e-mail address.
When you try to change the e-mail addr it tells you that address is already registered to someone else?

I'm guessing you have somehow registered 2 other screen names under those e-mail addresses. (Or, some unknown person has done that "for" you?) In any event, you should get forum e-mails addressed to those screen names. Maybe when you know all that you can get the moderators to delete the bogus ones and consolidate you under your preferred name and the active e-mail address. Maybe... I can't speak for what their software will let them do. Good luck, sorry I couldn't help more.

That's about it Russ. I might have registered two usernames at the very beginning, I joined when I just started beading and its possible I first registered the username I use on other non-jewlery related boards, then changed my mind and re-registered with a "business" handle. For sure I did not register more than two screen names. In any case, I thank you for the feedback. I get the B&B Newlsetters but don't receive forum email. I guess I'll just wait for the change and deal with it when the time comes to re-register.

I wonder where you'll be registered? On all 3 boards? [:D] I'm going to miss the mixed media format....it was nice to see the variety of things artists produce all concentrated here...but then again maybe a more medium-specific format will be interesting.

Again, thanks for your input, I always feel like I'm talking to myself when I post in this particular section of the forum.

    RE: IMPORTANT: EMAIL TO RE-REGISTER

I'll re-register through the B&B board. I'll try to scan all 3 boards and reply where I can feel useful. It's a good community here. Hopefully it will be as good when segmented.

    RE: IMPORTANT: EMAIL TO RE-REGISTER

Yes, I agree! This is a good community, and if its true that registering to one we are automatically registered to all three, I see no reason for all the hubbub. Instead of flipping sections we'll just be flipping boards. When it all comes down to it there were only three or four sections where all of us "mixed"...I'm sure we'll find sections on each separate forum where we can continue to mix [:)]. Admin confirmed that we'll be able to continue posting pics, so I still feel more or less at home.
