    Using New Swarovski Frames

I ordered and received some of the new swarovski frames and wonder if anyone has used them and how? The small ones could work for earrings but how would you connect them? The same for using the other sizes for a necklace. they are beautiful but I don't want to damage them when I work with them. Any advive would be appreciated. Sheila, Designs By Sheila.

    RE: Using New Swarovski Frames

    Hi,

I have seen earring designs using a fine chain with the open square frames. I've made them using one square frame and chain. I have a customer who says she makes earrings using 4 of the small frames and connects them with chain but I haven't actually ever seen the earrings so I don't know how she does it.

I've used larger frames as a focal for a necklace and sort of lassoed them with crystal beads. Hard to explain, sorry. Guess I need to post a picture on my website [:)] My business partner did an amazing combination of frames, 2mm Swarovski rounds as well as random other crystal beads and WireLace, it is really neat. She incorporated the frames using the 2mm rounds.

They're definitely something that you need to get creative with. It seems to take some "thinking outside the box". Once you've figured out the open square frames, tho', you can easily move on to the "Cosmic Ring"!

I am sure this is not what you are looking for but I have sewn mine on a ribbon necklace ( that is STILL unfinished!) using nylon thread and sewing clusters of tiny swars in opposing corners like this ( sorry for the bad pic...I just woke up) Now that I look at the photo ( the camera never lies!) I think I may remove a few of those swars..got carried away as usual[:D]

I have used chain for the round ring frames in a necklace which worked well. But I will try with the square ones to see if it can work. The ones that were sewn on are beautiful. But I'm not quite that talented. Thanks for the ideas. Sheila, Designs By Sheila.
