now its my turn to feel perhaps I should change my name. well, it was until I was watching t.v. last night. I came up with this brilliant idea because
1) Im not a dude and
2) Im tall-5'10 and weigh 210 on a good day (which was feb, 12 , 97)
3) My jewelry is made to appeal to larger women
sooooo.......I thought Glamazon(glamour and amazon) would be perfect.
I was ready to start a bar-be-que with all my LCD cards and get out the sand paper and then I happened to catch an act on some reality show and on there were a group of bigger ladies who sang and called themselves The Glamazons! [:(] [:(!] and this one->[banghead] is for fenian just cuz she hasnt used it in awhile!

Valentine's Day '97 must have been memorable, LCD. You made me LOL right here at work.

Sometimes it seems like all the good names are taken. So, in an effort to be unique, we have to use weird ones no one else wants. It's not like you and the singing Glamazons expect to be in the same room together anytime soon, right? They don't also make swirly lentils while harmonizing at the same time, I hope? If you like a name, if you think it fits, then who cares if they appeared on some obscure reality show?

So when the forums change, the past will be obliterated? What about the archives? All that info?

How will we find one another? Shall we all wear a little something from our black/yellow challenge?

On the suspicion that the ladies who performed on America's Got Talent weren't the first to use that name professionally/commercially, I did a search for "glamazon" and turned up:

- an apparently defunct 90s cyber-rock band with a female guitarist and transsexual lead singer
- identities on aol.com, del.icio.us, typepad.com, 43things.com, trailfire.com, friendster.com, moonfruit.com, and travelblog.org
- a fashion photographer
- a recording label
- a line of bizarre platform shoes
- various cosmetics under different labels
- a hair salon
- pro wrestler Beth Phoenix
- a movie from 1993
- a book published in 2003
- several *ahem* alternative lifestyle personalities
- and lots of more generic uses.

The closest I came to finding any jewelry under that name was "Crafty Chica" Kathy Cano Murillo's Glamazon Belt Buckles project. I say go for it!

I hope they don't dump the archives - we've worked so hard fill the files and there's so much stuff that's handy to search and recall links to other web sites - and what will turn up in Google? (Sometimes that 's the fastest way to find an old thread). I'm all for cleaning out files but selectively.......

I was thinkin' about a different name, too. I mean, I've had mine for the looooongest time...and it just came about, 'cause my name is "el (len)," my son's name is "j(ames)" and my dog's name is "babette," ya know?

When I signed up I didn't want to use my name (I try to avoid the possibility of being easily googled) and couldn't think of anything at the moment. I might change it when I sign up for the new forums... A lot of us will probably be "xxx, formerly known as zzz" for awhile [:)]

Most excellent idea. When the forum is changed anyone wearing yellow and black meet back at the hive. Anyone wearing black and blue however is required to meet at the urgent care unit.

Thanx so much for doing my homework for me! Now if you could help me figure out how much to charge. Once I get to mulitpying the square footage of my workroom divided by the wattage of my light bulb plus 10 % of the beads on my floor subtracted by how many steps it takes me to get to the bathroom, I get confused.

That has got to be the strangest combo of names ever!!! I gotta try it. Dang, Im stuck already, do I use my first name which I cant stand, or my middle name that everyone calls me??? hmm.....do I use my daughters name or my sons name? My cats name is Alberta but I call her Birdie. This is stressing me out, I need a smoke. oh, I never realized my yahoo went to my IM, weird!!! I thought it went to my email. No gallery yet.

"Assorted Nuts." That's a greatly descriptive name there.

I vote for Art Jewelry, simply because most of our stuff falls under that category.
