    recommend weight limit for earrings?

I don't have pierced ears, and the earrings I make have all been light-weight so far. My question: what would you recommend as the weight limit for earrings to sell? I have a design idea that's about 10 grams per earring - is that too heavy? Thanks for your input!

Totally off this topic, but I nearly had a heart attack (and I'm to young to die.) when i saw your name, Beads4me Because before I accidentally deleted my account, It was originally Bead4me.... Sooo sorry..
Oh, I don't have pierced ears either, and never plan to, but I've found that the weight limit of an earring, depends on how much pain you can stand because the heavier the earrings, the tighter the clasp...

    Cheers![:)]

RE: recommend weight limit for earrings?

depending on what materials you use in your jewellery it cam be quite easy to avoid making too heavy earrings. i only make jewellwry for myself and some relatives and friends etc, but i would avoid using chain (unless it's less than 5 cm (two inches) long and very thin), large glass beads (like lampwork beads). a good general rule is usually that a casual earring should never be more than one and a half inch long.

great materials for earrings are hollow polymer clay beads, seed beads, thin wire, small glass beads and crystals.

one way of finding out how heavy earrings can be is lookig in a store where they sell yhe cheap kind of jewellery teenagers wear (they often contain plastic and very rarely pure gold or sterling silver). there you can look at the earrings, take them in your hand and feel the wheight and so on.
