Gee - This appears to be a VERY THINLY veiled and duplicitous attempt to drive traffic to your web site. Is it just a coincidence that your name is that of the contact person who is trying to sell these templates? Shame on you. The pictures are horrible, too boot. No WOW factor here.

Thanks ladies. I'm an amature when it comes to web design, this was my first try. My real expertise lies in other areas. (Thought I'd found a public BBS on wire shaping.)

What about the actual concept of having the gemstone shape you need, when you need it ?

Or was my breach of protocols too heinous?

First of all, the subject your post should be direct and state that you have developed a new product that you want to sell, that might be of interest. It would be helpful if you were already a member here who had been contributing, helping people, and showing your work. We HATE it when the first time we hear from someone is when they want to sell something.

Second, the information on your site is incomplete. The pics aren't big enough to see how the cab actually stays secure in your sample pieces. There isn't a 360 degree view of exactly what the templates look like all the way around. And the click on the instructions went nowhere and that got my blood boiling. Without a lot more information I'm not sure anyone could really tell you if you've built a better mouse trap.

Well, I read your site, and unlike Jilla, was able to grasp that these are discs of brushed aluminum that are in calibrated sizes and shapes common to gemstone cabs. You just wirewrap around the discs rather than "a slippery gemstone".

As an idea, I think it could have merit. As a person who loves tools, I like the idea. As a purchaser of tools, I think they are about $100 more than I would pay. I realize these are the collectible limited prototype sets, but unless they are gold, that price is way out of my range of consideration. (When I shop for tools, things fall into categories... some are priced such that I buy without hesitation, some are priced that I have to think about it some to be sure I will get return on my investment, some are priced such that I'd like to have it, but I'm going to have to save up for it, and some are priced such that I wouldn't buy it, no-way-no-how at that price. At $147, you fell into that last category.)

Website wise, I agree with some of the above posters. I would remove the 'Instructions for use" link, or make it work. The pictures enlarge when you click on them, but they still aren't very clear photos. Adding better pictures and some instructions would go a long way towards getting your concept across.

    Good luck in your endevour.

Jim, thanks for your comments. I tried and failed to upload the instruction page 3 times that day . If you look at the .gif on 'about us' and on the cart page you'll see the gist of it. The main thing is to measure the stone and transfer the marks to the wire 'cause not all stones are 'calibrated' and you want to set the stone, not the template. This is also why they work with freeform. The instructions that have gone into the ether so many times follow the whole process from measureing the stone to cleaning the pendant. (lot of typing to lose...)

I saw a posting on this BBS around April where someone ask how to wrap oval cab's. All the answers suggested buying a book. I was using the 'real' answer and thought I'd share. To say I'm on a shoestring budget doest take into account that I wear loafers!

I see from your posting that you may be a silver smith?

Please email and let me know if you'd evaluate the possibities for that application.
Price is right too...(147 off listed price) but I'll need an address to ship to

    Rick
