I am with you Jilla. This is the only place I do challenges and I feel that the object is to get us to try new things and grow as artists.

I had interpreted this idea as new challenges in polymer, like a flower cane, a "faux" something, a new color combo. After all, I started this, didn't I?!?[:o)][;)][%-)][D)]

When I suggested black and yellow, honest to God I di NOT think of bees!

    I see we're still live.

I took pictures of my challenge beads yesterday, but I'll wait to post 'em until after we're reincarnated.

A bonus? I made a primitive light box. It needs work, but it's sooooooo much better than sunlight or flashes.

I might as well post my pics. Watch me cause the entire board to go down!

    Pendant from above batch

Black clay, translucent tinted with yellow ink, bits of sparkle. Turned blue in the ice water. Didn't notice the hair until I'd put the camera away. It's not a permanent part of the pendant. The beads are finished with Varathane and the pendant with Triple Thick.

WOW. You HAVE been beeeeezy! I think this might be some sort of a record. These might not be what you had in mind but they are certainly very cool and it looks like you've negotiated a good settlement with yellow and black! Yellow aka gold - definitely better! Even the one with yellow translucent looks like some sort of a galaxy far, far away!

    RE: July Challenge Ideas?

Thanks Jackie, Helen & Jilla. I think I'll leave the yellow and black for a while (i.e., a LONG while, hee). Black's my fave, and yellow's fine as an accent, but I bee'z sick of the combo at this point. Still, I really appreciate the nature of the challenge and look forward to more. If left to my own devices, I'd stick with my safe, fave little things, and this is a good way to force me out of my little box.

And speaking of little box, can a cardboard lightbox draped with cut-up white tshirts be any easier? I'm actually gonna replace the tshirts with something more translucent (not clay this time) and get some different backdrops. But it sure beats squatting over glaring little things in the backyard sun.
