    July Challenge Ideas?

    Got any?

    Maybe one of these:

A color combo I've never tried before (clay, inks, powders)
    Quest for a neato focal
    Mythology
    Swirlies and lentils
    Mokume gane

Ripple blade! Cut MG with a ripple! Try cutting a bull's eye log, or a jelly roll.

Hmm...picking a color combo sounds like fun...only allowed additions to the base colors to be black or white.

I like the mokume gane idea, too.

How about if we go with trying a new color combo? Then if you want to ripple it, swirl it, mg it - any technique as long as you are stretching your wings and taking risks with colors.

Sparklebee have a great vacation and I hope that when you get back you've got a lock on a high end deal. See, my fingers are crossed!

I do like the color combo idea. How about...........................................yellow and black?!? It's a combo I've never tried, for sure.

Not necessarily for July, but I used to create a "challenge" every month for my guild (which I preferred to call an "exploration"), and I've kept a list of them on one page at my website if you want to check them out... there are also theme ideas which have been suggested elsewhere online and by others for my guild, as well as discussions about what "explorations" like that actually involve:

    RE: July Challenge Ideas?

I made some black/yellow challenge beads last night. I used yellow Pinata ink on silver leaf over black clay and crackled the leaf. Although the ink is very yellow, over silver it more resembles gold. Anyway, I still need to apply a finish and then see what I can do with them.
