how about adding a "do not spam" notice on the website?

we get so many spammers, mostly from China, trying to sell us either finished jewelry, beads, or even non-related items. hawking beads is ok if you are also a participating member with real input. can we have some sort of notice posted in the header of the website, or someplace outlining who this forum is for, and what is not allowed?

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can.

Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.

    Hi Sparklebee,

We currently have a section at the top of the main forum page called Policies, Rules, and Guidelines. Within that is a topic on posting advertisements: http://www.artjewelrymag.com/art/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6364

When our new forum is unveiled in July, we will have new procedures and abilities to deal with spam. Until then, the moderators will take care of it as best we can. And we always appreciate it when forum members notify us of spam.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

    Sincerely,

Hi, Katie! Thanx for taking care of GlenJewelry so quickly! I'm sorry you didn't like my Poll; I wasn't aware that that was frowned on, but, it DID get the attention of the forum members and make them aware that we CAN do something about these spammers, eh? (I have a feeling many don't read below the Show us your work section)...

I'm, also, curious about the "new forum???" I know, curiousity and the kat thing, eh? heh heh heh I'm sure we'll be hearing about it soon...(little hint, maybe?).

    thanx again,

    elly

    Hi Sparklebee and Elly,

Yes, in mid-July Bead&Button, BeadStyle, and Art Jewelry will all be unveiling our new websites. We've been working on them for nearly a year, and they're almost ready to launch! The forums will also be different on the new sites, and we hope you like the changes.
