Just had to share with a group who would understand

AHHH [banghead] I just discovered that I accidently switched 2 colors around in a tapestry I am doing- and it is not like I can just leave it I mixed up a pink and green bead for 21 rows!!!!! Now I need to rip out those rows. and here I thought I was on such a roll too. a little more than a 1/3 of the way thru 388 rows. Oh well--- It has to be done.

I knew you seed beaders would understand [:)]

    Dear Heidi,

At least you didn't find it when you were on row 387 that would have been much worse! I have a similar glitch in my knitting right now,I'm going to have to take back about 7 or 8 rows, that's what you get for working a lace pattern when you are tired I suppose.

    oh sorry Heidi!

I hate when that happens! I usually leave it a day or so , then rip it out...seems not to be so bad. Oh and I tell everyone who will listen[xx(]

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can.

Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.

Heidi, I admire you for staying determined to finish the project instead of throwing the thing onto the roof and taking up stamp collecting!

Ohhhhhhh, I so feel your pain sister friend. I can't tell you how many time that's happend to me in various projects. That's why I don't think I sew much any more and crochet and cross-stitch are kind of bad words to me any more. I hope you get that all worked out.

    hockey,

That stinks! I always re-do the mistakes and start again. If you don't, you will never be satisfied with the completed project.

    Speaking from experience.

I'm sorry to hear about your 'small time delay' [:)] Yeah, we all experience similar mix ups, one way or another. Is the color changes in the entire rows or in a small section of the piece? I am asking as I have once cut out a small section of color switching mistakes and repaired, not having to rework the correct areas.

Just a thought incase you would like to think along these lines.[8)]

I don't know what's worse-having to go back and tear out rows or pick up a bunch of seed beads that have just bounced acrss a hardwood floor!! (Can you tell what I did this morning?LOL)

If it is only a small number of beads you can just crush them and break them out with needle nosed pliers, then weave in the right ones.

    Oh, wait. Twenty-one rows[wow]....well then, I know your pain[sigh]

RE: Just had to share with a group who would understand

    Here is an update:
I am working on a peyote stitch tapestry so trying to crush a bead or 2 may have worked but I was having to take out over 100 beads all together. I managed to keep 19 out of 21 rows together - I had counted up and snipped the thread and then pulled it apart. So putting it back together is not really as bad as I thought it would be. I pull off one row from the 19 take out the wrong color( it is very obvious which one it is) and replace it with the right color then bead that row to the tapesty. So it is actually going much faster than I had thought it would. But I am going to be much more careful.

Thanks for all the sympathy and once this is complete I will post a picture of it.

Subeeds315-- I dumped about 15 colors seedbeads on my hard wood floor last summer. I spent a lot of time picking those aparts. that was quite a nightmare too. I used the sock over the vaccumme trick to get then all picke up- it worked well for me.

I also felt your pain Hockeygirl!!!! I do believe it has happened at one time or another to all of us that seed bead. One time I was so frustrated I threw my piece across the room!!! Didn't make me feel any better, but got some of the frustration out of the way.
Glad you have had a smooth recovery.!! Patti
