90% of my work involves single coloured metal. I love the look of it!

    my style is elegant,slightly feminin,original,
every time I make something, it seems to be blue
(hence my user name), or at least have something blue on it. I like to make things that look like they should be from a fairy tale, or from the time when ladies wore fancy Victorian style dresses, I think that’s the 18th century (I think). sometimes i try to break away and make something different so that i dont have alot of the same thing. i always try to make things that are pretty and delicate, but not too fancy for every day wear.

I think my style is fun and unusual. Problem is...there aren't many people out there like me. I mostly sell to co-workers right now and they all seem to have a champagne taste and beer budgets. They like crystal and silver and very "in the box" stuff and that's not what I'm really good at making. Some day when I get a little more ambitious and really get out there to sell, I'll get to make more stuff...

(just had to put that there[:D])

I don't post much because I'm never happy with the pictures I take... However, I made some pieces this week that I am especially proud of. I just learned european 4-in-1 chainmaille, & was inspired. Take a look!

Now I just wish I had 50 more sets made for my next show end of this month!

MNL - Keep making what you like!
Eventually you will find your niche. People like unusual and different. Take my jewelry - the first year I didn't sell much but lots of people commented on my color schemes. I kept at it and now, 2 1/2 years later, my average show is $900 a day. And that was in Michigan, with the Walmart Generation who try to bargain you down to $1!

Really interesting to see how we view our selves.

I was a fiber artist for many years and now I weave with wire.

My husband is a nautical guy (we lived aboard our boat for 12 years and he ties knots in wire. The website is not reflecting our newer work, but you can see it on the blog

Thanks AG---that's very encouraging. I think I'll keep doin' what I like. Otherwise, I might not do it anymore, right?

It really is interesting how we view ourselves.

Hasn't the rule of thumb these days is to find your niche style and stick with it? That used to bother the heck out of me because I couldn't place myself in a category. Now I made my own category and I call it my niche...[}:)]

Well, that's a good question...something I'm thinking about because I just finished Viki Lareau's book and in the first chapter she says to figure out how to describe your jewelry. I don't know--casual? colorful? monochromatic?

I've also worked almost exclusively with glass and silver so far, and would like to branch out into semi-precious a la Jes MaHarry, cyanrift.com and others. So my style will be changing a bit.

I just got a digital camera so I'll try to post some work. Maybe the replies will give me some words to work with.
