Survey: How many unfinished projects?
OK, we never solved the mystery of the beads in the bed. But I am wondering if I have ADHD (I am a special ed teacher in 'real life' and LOVE beading for therapy after work)? I must have about 20 unfinished projects in zip-loc bags. Is there something wrong with me? Does anyone else out there keep starting new stuff and not finishing other stuff? I have a lovely bead-embroidered necklace I finished two years ago...still waiting for the fringe to be added (I don't like doing fringe). I do eventually finish some of the pieces but there are a TON still in various stages of production and I STILL keep starting new ones. We won't even talk about all the beads I keep buying...

RE: Survey: How many unfinished projects?
I'd have to say that I have about 5 projects I haven't finished yet because either I'm lazy, or I just don't know what I was thinking and I'm too lazy to tear it apart and start over. /sigh
Well, while my sister was visiting with the baby, I misplaced my 2in dragonscale bracelet, so I'm in the process of finding it somewhere in my room. I'm currently working on another chainmaille project whose pattern has kicked my engineering rear too many times, but now I finally figured it out and it's just a matter of sitting down and working on it. Then I have at least 3 (haha, I guessed right) dangle necklaces I haven't finished, but I don't know why. One is absolutely beautiful, but I don't understand my reasoning for some of the design. So, I have a few projects lying around... and I just thought of 2 more.
Yes, we won't speak of the amount of beads we stash away and never use... just admire. [;)]

RE: Survey: How many unfinished projects?
Interesting question. I've got four. But I have REALLY GOOD EXCUSES!!!!!!
For one, I haven't decided what kind of clasp to use. For another, I haven't decided if I should change to a different color wire. And for another I haven't decided if I like the way the knots came out. For the fourth, I haven't yet learned the chain maille weave that I want to use to go with a pendant.
And I've got a bunch of experimental polymer beads that are nice but they aren't telling me what they want to be. Hey, if the beads won't talk, what better excuse is there than that?

I have one. I made a single earring and can't seem to get around to making the other one, though I've completed other projects since i made the first.

Grapevine,
You have no idea how much better you just made me feel. I thought I was the only one with HALF a pair of earrings done. LOL [:I]

RE: Survey: How many unfinished projects?
I have about 19 necklaces in a box marked "To rebead before Im dead" (as opposed to after??? No Clue) I have a box of countless "things" Ive made in Polymer clay that I cant throw away but dont know what to do with. I have 8 necklaces just waiting for clasps, 10 to be strung, 3 large jars of p.c. beads Ive made that are just being pretty for now, 5 necklaces waiting for Druk beads to arrive so they can be finished, 3 necklaces waiting to be glazed, 4 necklaces that have to be baked yet, a bag of beads waiting to become earrings, 1 necklace to repair, 2 bracelets to repair and did I mention I have a t-shrt that says, "I dont have A.A.D.D. Im just-Hey! Look at that squirrel!"

RE: Survey: How many unfinished projects?
I have ADDdB(Attention Deficit due to beads). I started out cleaning up my beading area(disater did hit!) when I found this bead that I just had to make something out of ....The cleaning got put off.
I currently have three pairs of earrings awaiting wires due to the fact I can not find the wires(2months).Then I get distracted yet again by a bead...vicious cycle continues.[(-D]

RE: Survey: How many unfinished projects?
I have about 1/2 dozen in various stages of finished. Many, for reasons listed above--need clasps, don't know what the heck I was thinkin', etc. What's worse is the amount of beads just waiting to be incorporated into something fantastic. Sometimes I wonder if I just like to look at all the pretty colors more than making something. I guess that would be an entirely different topic, huh?

RE: Survey: How many unfinished projects?
Every PC necklace except one have no clasps...just sitting in their ziplock homes..but I plan to make my own toggles ( have done one thus far) and like littleclaydude have a multiple pc pendants that are orphans at the moment. BUT as I have stated before: I am determined to focus on one project at a time...no more pc designing, no more buying beads or clay or books or tools or ribbon or components..the list goes on and on[:D] I must admit that have about fifty finished bracelets...all of them swar and ss although I am breaking some of them up to use the beads for my current project. hmmm so I am NOT alone on this..it's nice to know there are beady procrastinators like me[banghead]

Ok, I guess ADDtb is more common than I thought! I'm glad I'm not alone out there!

RE: Survey: How many unfinished projects?
I finish ALL of my projects.
(In other words, I'm finished working on them.)

RE: Survey: How many unfinished projects?
Fenian,
A year ago I made a sign that hangs in my workroom right in my face. It says "Focus" about 100 times in different fonts, colors and sizes. After awhile stressed me out and I felt pressured to do one thing at time until it became very boring. So, I purposely re-hung it crooked, and to the side of me, to remind myself that even if I dont finish one thing before I go onto another that eventually I will get back to it.

RE: Survey: How many unfinished projects?
Too many to count!!! My main problem is finishing as far as clasps and toggles and hooks, Oh MY!!!!!I have about 20 to 30 unfinished that just need these things. I also want to know how some of you can have like 3 or 4 or more pieces in the works at one time. I can't do it. I tried and about went nuts. How do you manage????

RE: Survey: How many unfinished projects?
I have a half finished cellini that I got sick of the colors and quit working on it. That's actually pretty high on my "must finish" list. Although, I'll probably get stuck on the clasp when I get there.
I have a necklace that is mostly done, but I keep changing my mind about what I want to do for a pendant - I think now I've decided to do an embroidered piece, but by the time I start on it, I may have changed my mind again!
I have a couple of spiral herringbone bracelets that I started and never finished because I was using cheap Wal-Mart beads - but I'll finish them some day and give them to my nieces as gifts and they won't mind the beads! [:)]
I, too, have one earring done - or maybe even 2 - that is waiting for a match to be made.
I have a pin that is finished for now, but I wanted to do some coralling on it.
Lots of ideas written down with no time to even start, let alone not finish!
Kassie
