Am I theonly person irritated by the recent arrival of spam style sales posts?

Am I the only person irritated by the recent arrival of spam style sales posts for phones, i-pods, etc?

I'd just like to say WAKEY WAKEY to our moderators, and GET RID OF THE DARN THINGS!!

    Hi Beadinlovely,

When you encounter spam on the forum, please send an e-mail to one of the moderators at editor@beadandbutton.com, editor@beadstylemag.com, or editor@artjewelrymag.com. The moderators view the forum daily, but there have been 376 posts in the last 24 hours alone, and we can't read every one. We always appreciate it when forum members like yourself give us a heads-up that there is a new spammer. You can help us make the forum a better place.

Our websites and forums are currently getting a makeover in design and function, and they will be unveiled this summer. At that time, we will have new features that will improve the spam problem. Until then, we appreciate your help in letting us know if you find spam.

    Thanks!

These posts are a double edged sword. The 3 posts that happened yesterday were obvious spam just from looking at the topic. An admin wouldn't have had to read the 376 posts to find those, just the 376 topics, and that should take minutes at most. It seems that they could be removed in a more timely fashion.

The flip side is that it should have been just as obvious to us forum users, and we have the ability to just not read them.

But, if I needed to report something like this, I'd have to find an administrator article that tells how to do it. I think to Beadinlovely's point, it would be nice to have a 'report this post' icon on every post next to the 'quote' icon so one click and you are done. Something that simple would encourage people to report posts of this nature, as opposed to the current process which encourages most of us to just move on and leave the work to someone else.

    That's my two cents worth.

Heres a suggestion. Why not moderate brand new members say for the first 10 posts. From what I have seen most spam posts are by people who have joined today, posted today and then gone. Would this be a workable option.
