hypo-allergenic alternative to metal

Hi,
I'm looking for an alternative to metal clasps. This is for a girl who is EXTREMELY allergic to metal - she cannot wear any metal of any kind. She wants a necklace. I'm thinking of using leather or silk thread or ribbon or elastic - and just tying it off. But, I thought there might be a better solution than her having to tie & untie the necklace each time she wears it. Is anyone aware of a non-metal clasp? Plastic, wood?

There are wood toggles out there - search the forums, someone just posted about them a while back.

You could also make a clasp using polymer clay (I'd make it over a wire armature for strength and use a strong clay such as Premo or Kato).

A loop and bead clasp works well, too, or a button and loop. Basicly all made from beads and/or buttons with no metal at all.
