    RE: Other crafts?

When I feel "stuck" with my beading, I like to learn something new, so I have many little side crafts. I have taken several One Stroke Painting classes, loads of fun. I've played with cake decorating, too much clean up! My daughter and I like to make cement stepping stones.
And I really have a fondness for all the paper crafts. I like Scrapbooking, card making, stamping, and altered books (although it is so hard to "ruin" a book, so I really have to hunt for one that is probably not useful any more - like stock market tips from the eighties!) I enjoy almost all crafts, but truly enjoy learning something new most of all!
Great idea for a topic, and it should be fun to see what everyone else likes to do...

i for one collect books so I can not bring myself to make altered books. I do make candles and soap and x mas ornaments. That is about it. I read alot and am very busy with work so I am lucky to even get in bead time.

I love stained glass. It's so beautiful. I started doing it about 12 years ago but haven't done any for about a year. I really needed a break from it. I find it extremely hard not to bead with every spare minute that I have. Reading is a good break from everything. It's about the only thing that gets my head out of the beadbag. It's very relaxing. Reading is amazing, not only entertaining but also a wonderful learning experience.

I like to crochet, sew every now and then, do the soap making thing (and maybe one day I'll do the candle thing, I purchased some supplies months ago...), work on dollhouse miniatures, and do a little bit of needlepoint. I think my parents think that I'm some sort of reincarnation of past relatives trapped in my 21 year old body, lol.

(and I charge alot for them, lol)
Normally though I do little simple crafts like make pouches and cards out of construction paper, I try to do other crafts I can include my daughter in. If we both end up covered in glue and paper but laughing and having fun then I think whatever jumble we come up with is a masterpiece!

All sorts really, Crochet, Knitting, Tapestry, Sewing, Home Decorating but the farm accounts/record keeping etc take up a lot of my time so I do bits and pieces here and there.

I like to sew (most X-stitch) and around christmas it's a lot of christmas decorations being done... I also like to bake and then there is reading! I love books (going to study to librarian in the autumn...)

You have all mentioned things I would like to try, but where do I get the time???

I've starting working on embroidery to help me branch out from strining/wireworking. Also, I've been trying lampworking lately and I've started making Artist Trading Cards for fun (collage mostly).

i pretty much bead every free (and not so free) second.... if that obsession ever wears down, i'd love to learn to knit

i also make cards. i read a lot. and i edit my bf's screenplays (i have a film degree)... am not sure if that counts as creative.. it's definitely lots of work!

I've tried all sorts of different things and tend to go through phases. Paper crafts- card making and scrapbooking have really stuck along with jewelry making. I do a little knitting when the mood strikes.

There definitely is not enough time for it all!
