Some more chainmaille and other media's

I think I saw the light , my brain is gone. .

After I made the chainmaille with the beads i made an other bracelet.
    Without the beads this time.

I started on making some more rings, and noticed I didn't have enough wire.
I remembered i saw the right size wire in the store yesterday so I jumped in my car to get some more wire.
Luckely it wasn't sold yet. (seems like I'm the only one using this silverplate wire in our district )

The wire comes in a package of 4 meters of 18 gauge wire.
Just enough to try to make a boxchain bracelet.
I finaly saw how to do it. Took me long enough!!

What do you guys think? Did I do well?

From the few rings that were left I made these earrings.

A few days back I also made this pendant.

I also made a cross from glass pearls, but I think it would look much better in firepolish.

That's it for now. the only other items that are left, are a few more orphan bead earrings that I made, but I didn't make the photo's yet.

Great work Carina! You've officially been bit by the maille bug!

Now that you've learned the box chain, you'll have to try byzantine next (if you haven't already). It's just one more step from the box chain.

Your beaded cross is gorgeous - very renaissance.

Well done, Carina. I love the second bracelet. I keep meaning to have a go, but feel a little afraid. I see you're using silver plated are you likely to progress to sterling later? Where did you get the tutorial for your pieces and how did you make the rings? Sorry for all the questions.

All your other pieces are lovely too, I think the cross works with the beads that you've used - it looks a bit Gwen and Florence to me.

OO I would love to try all the weaves from the tuts i have. but I used all my wire.

I have some 20 gauge though I might give that I try.

@ MEW = (are you the anonymous member who is always lurking ) I have been staring and gazing at the byzantine for ages now, and just now that I have no more rings left I see how it is done. But he is next on my list.

@ Alison = the tuts I found all over the internet.
    Here are a few:

    http://www.maileofthedreamseeker.com/instructions/
    http://www.mailleartisans.org/weaves/index.cgi

I use nitting needles to coil my rings for these bracelets I used a 4,5 mm needle and 18 gauge wire. Maybe I will use sterling silver later on. It is very expensiv here and difficult to buy here.

@ Strutandcrow = (strange name you use ) it is indeed super addictive.

Just beautiful work. I so appreciate the patience it takes to do the chains. Maybe someday I will develop some. In the meantime I will just admire yours. Patti

Please share when they are done.

@ trysch = I will try them all (at least as far I can get) I tried a piece of round helm but box is easier.
I made a small piece of the byzantine, with 22 gauge iron wire coiled at a 2 mm needle. Those were a teeny weeny to small for me, but it looked so lovely.

I go to town tomorrow and see if I can get a 4 mm knitting needle for my 20 gauge wire.

Carina - you've been busy! It's all so pretty! I was just going to post how much I liked the earrings, but then I thought, "well, I can't just mention the earrings because the bracelet and the pendant and the cross are all super too!" [:p]
